Activities
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA’s) play a very important part of school life at BST. The ECA programme is split into two parts within the school.
1. School teams or clubs. These are practices put on mainly by the school PE staff and deal directly with teams or sports that involve competition against other schools or in intra-school tournaments. These clubs mainly run before school and after school and involve long-term commitment over the season.
NB The PE department operates a “no-cut” policy which means that students can attend as many practices as they want during the school week. Students may not always get to play in teams but they are also never cut from training. We believe at BST that all students should be given a chance to represent the school and we extend this opportunity to students who show commitment to training.2. Staff led ECA’s. These are led by the teaching staff at BST school. Staff offer clubs during lunch time and after school in a variety of alternative activities ranging from yoga, to jewellery design and Japanese club. Students sign up for these clubs at the start of every term and these clubs normally are similar to the student’s hobbies or interests away from school.
Students at BST are encouraged to maintain a commitment to ECA’s throughout the year. It is expected that all students are doing at least one Extra Curricular Activity every term.
