Concerts and Performances
The Performing Arts are wonderfully supported at the British School in Tokyo and provide an outstanding opportunity for pupils to develop a variety of skills that no classroom can teach. The opportunities to perform to the public are extensive.
The Music department prepares a number of formal and informal concerts throughout the year and these include our Christmas Concert in the beautiful Hitomi Memorial Hall, our Summer Concert, Shibuya and Showa Festivals, Rock Night and many more performances at school and in the local community.
In every performance that is given by the pupils of The British School in Tokyo you will see a true example of the school’s purpose:
To inspire our students to thrive as global citizens.
These concerts also reinforce our core values:
- Confidence in our ability
- Excellence in everything we do
- Responsibility to ourselves and others.
The ability to sing, act and dance in front of an audience is a difficult skill to master and regular rehearsals and performances improve confidence and self-esteem. The experience of performing on stage can equip students with skills that will benefit them for many years in the future.
