The School and the Environment
BST actively promotes environmental awareness. Several units of study and many educational activities that the students undertake focus on issues related to environmental responsibility. Please look to the Science or Geography Schemes of Work for more detail on these types of educational opportunities.Being the only British school in Japan also provides us with a unique opportunity to contextualise learning in the cities and countryside. Through our curriculum planning there are any examples of this, be it the Year 9 ICT topic based on the city of Hiroshima, or Nursery’s annual cherry blossom party in Yoyogi Park.
Additionally, our BST Outdoors programme is a theme across our School that provides some remarkable opportunities for our students to experience the mountains, beaches and lakes of Japan.
