Mathematics
We follow the National Curriculum for England, through which students develop their skills in number and algebra; geometry and measures; and statistics and probability, with a significant focus on applying mathematics in context, problem-solving and mathematical communication skills.
In Year 9, students study for both the GCSE qualification in Mathematics the GCSE in Statistics, following the AQA Linear Mathematics specification. All students follow the Higher course of study and aim to sit their GCSE examination at the end of Year 10 or Year 11, dependant on when they are fully prepared. For the more able students, further enrichment qualifications are available for study in Year 11.
In Years 12 and 13, the Advanced Level Mathematics qualification is a popular choice and we also offer an AS in Further Maths.
