Shimoda Trip
Students on this trip get to learn to surf, snorkel and scuba dive while also learning about the following classroom topics:
Year 8
· The Black Ships and trade between Japan and the USA
· Tides, off-shore drift and erosion
· Land art and the use of scale when drawing scenery based art
Year 10
· Acting as a translator from Japanese to English
· The importance of location as part of a business start-up plan
· How location impacts upon which businesses are short-term and long term successful in both the long and short-term
