Embassy Registration

EMERGENCY PLANNING – REGISTRATION WITH THE BRITISH EMBASSY

Did you know in the event of a major emergency, such as an earthquake, it is likely that telephone and computer systems will not be operative so you will not be able to contact each other or family outside of Japan?

With approximately 18,000 British citizens in Japan, the British Embassy in Tokyo will be fielding thousands of calls from family members trying to obtain news about residents here.

It would greatly assist the Embassy and give your loved ones quicker and more reliable information about your safety status, if you and your family have registered with the Embassy.

It is an easy and quick process; simply go to the  online registration system LOCATE and fill out the form.

It takes no more than five minutes to register a family (have your passports available for required details).

If you prefer to use a hard copy instead, please ask for a Registration Form at the British School foyer.

Please also note that registration is for ONE year only; re-register each year and/or notify the Embassy when you leave the country permanently.
