The British School in Tokyo provides a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England and tailored to meet the needs of international students in Japan aged 3 to 18 years old.
Please note that waiting pools exists for most year groups. We operate a rolling waiting pool system and if applicants are unable to gain entry at their preferred timing, their applications will continue to stay in our waiting pools.
The British School in Tokyo does not have boarding facilities and students are required to reside in Japan with at least one parent. We do not sponsor student visas.

To make an enquiry, sign-up for a school tour, and/or to request an application, please complete the Enquiry Form at the bottom of this page. Access to our online Application Form will be provided once we receive your Enquiry Form (Registration of Interest), unless we have some questions regarding the eligibility of your child(ren), in which case we will contact you separately.

We have 2 campuses separated by the year groups below:
Nursery to Year 3 (3 year old to 7 year old children) are located at our Shibuya Campus.
Year 4 and above (8 year old to 18 year old) are located at our Showa Campus.

Please complete the enquiry form and create an account.
An admissions representative will contact you after receiving your enquiry form.
3. Book A tour (optional)
You may book a tour once you have submitted your enquiry form and have created an account.
4. APPLICATION FORMS
Access to the application form and application check-list will be provided after receiving your enquiry form.
5. Confirmation of Application
Once you have submitted all items on the application check list, an admissions representative will contact you to let you know the status of your application.
If the report and reference from the previous or current school is satisfactory, and depending upon the year group for which you are applying, you may be placed in one of our waiting pools. Waiting pools exist for most year groups so parents are encouraged to apply with us as early as possible.
Any required interview/assessment appointments will be scheduled after receiving and reviewing all application documents, references, and when space is foreseen for the applicant.
