Trustees Committee
In order to monitor and advise on specific areas of the School’s activities, the trustees are organised into committees and specific taskforces. Non-trustees, normally staff of the School, are regularly invited to attend meetings of the committees or to participate in the taskforces.
StrategyThe Strategy Committee is convened at the discretion of the Chair to explore and frame issues that are put to the Board for debate and discussion. The Committee is headed by the Chair and includes other trustees depending on the topic. |
EducationThe Education Committee works closely with the Heads of School to review key educational policies. The Education Committee meets at least 5 times during the year. Paul Habeshaw (Chair) Meetings are also attended by: David James (Deputy Principal) |
FinanceThe Finance Committee oversees the financial performance of the School and works with the Bursar of the School to establish the financial strategy. PropertyThe Property Committee meets at least 5 times during the year to support and approve the planning for the development of facilities and premises for the School. John Cook (Chair) Meetings are also attended by: David James (Deputy Principal) |
BursariesA sub-set of trustees serve on the Bursaries Committee, together with the Principal and the Bursar. This Committee convenes as and when necessary to deliberate applications for bursaries. |
Legal & REGULATORY AFFAIRSThe Legal & Regulatory Affairs Committee oversees the School’s compliance with its constitutional documents, regulatory requirements and agreements with the School’s key partners. DevelopmentThe Development Committee meets at least 5 times during the year and supports the School in building community awareness and support of the mission of the School in the form of financial donations and other partnerships. Groups of trustees also serve on panels with a defined remit or taskforces charged with investigating specific issues for example, panels of trustees have been convened for the recruitment of Head of School or Bursar of the School and a task force has also been set up to review the performance appraisal process for senior leadership of the School.
