Academic Results

A student writing her academic report

We are very pleased indeed with our academic results in the last few years. As you can see from the information below we secure some outstanding results - especially in light of the fact that we are a non-selective school

While many results are very high, one should also note that our teachers often derive even greater satisfaction from seeing students who have struggled to cope with the demands of public examinations, achieving results better than even they might have expected. There are certainly times when a B or even a C offers just as much cause for celebration as an A*.

Many of our students go on to study at excellent universities around the world including Cambridge, Imperial College, New York University, University of British Columbia and Todai (Tokyo University) to name but a few.

You can find out more about our curriculum on this page https://www.bst.ac.jp/school-life/secondary-school

BST Public Examination Results - Summer 2022

We are delighted with the grades our students achieved. It was a very challenging year for the students in so many ways and they should be so proud of their achievements. The support which parents and teachers gave them was vital and we hope they are also celebrating the successes.

At A level the overall grades were:

2022

A*-A

60%

A*-B

78%

A*-C

92%

A*-E

100%

Students that have graduated from BST this year are going on to some of the best universities in the world including Oxford, Imperial College London, UCL and LSE in the UK, Kyushu University in Japan and many others such in Europe, USA, and Canada.

As a non-selective school, of course we are equally proud of our students who may not have attained the highest grades on the scale but managed to attain or surpass their own personal targets and challenges.

For (I)GCSE the grades were:

2022

A*-A/9-7

78%

A*-B/9-6

89%

A*-C/9-4

98%

A*-E/9-4

100%

Note that (I)GCSE outcomes are reported in either letter grades or numbers depending upon the method used by different examination boards

These results are very pleasing and enable these students to have a great basis on which to build for their future studies.
