Counselling at BST

We all experience times when it feels hard to talk to those closest to us about things which we find troubling. Perhaps we experience difficulty that we feel is hard to overcome or we just need someone to talk to and help us think things through.

Counselling at BST promotes student success by supporting positive relationships and personal and social development, in a confidential setting.

The counsellors are:

Primary School - Ms Reyes: areyes@bst.ac.jp

Secondary School - Dr Narita: rnarita@bst.ac.jp

Primary students are able to see the counsellor with permission from their parents. In the Secondary school students are able to see the counsellor without their parents being informed although if there is significant concern of a safeguarding nature, our Designated Safeguarding Lead or counsellor may approach the parents.

Counselling referrals may be made through the school’s pastoral system (class teachers/form tutors), by parents, or Secondary students can self-refer.

We also hold coffee mornings and parenting workshops to which parents are invited.

The counsellors are usually in school at the following times of the week:

Ms Reyes: Mondays 8.30am - 4.30pm at Showa campus, and Fridays 8.30am - 4.30pm at Shibuya campus

Dr Narita: Mondays by appointment. Tuesdays - Fridays 8:30 am - 3:45 pm

Please get in touch if you feel you require support. Our counsellors are here to help you.

If you have an urgent concern then please approach your Class Teacher, Tutor or Head of House.

If you have a concern of a safeguarding nature, please contact the appropriate BST Designated Safeguarding Lead, Ms Hill (nhill@bst.ac.jp) in the Primary Shibuya Campus, Ms Pinkney (hpinkney@bst.ac.jp) in the Primary Showa Campus and Mr Grey (dgrey@bst.ac.jp) in the Secondary School.

If you would like to get in touch with our university advisor, please contact Ms Diaz (kdiaz@bst.ac.jp).
