School Clubs
Coordinator: Ani Smart
Available to: Shibuya Y1-3/Showa Y4-6
When: Before, during and after school
Where: BST Shibuya and BST Showa classrooms and shared spaces
How you sign up: Respond to online sign up Form by deadline.
How long they run for: 10 weeks - Generally 5 before and 5 after half term
Delivered by: BST staff
- Each child is guaranteed a place in one club per term.
- An online registration form will be sent out with the details each term.
- Children select and rate three choices from the list.
- We endeavour to give all children their first choice but this is not always possible.
- A number of clubs will run over three terms, others for one or two terms.
- After school club times will be Shibuya: 3.25-4.20pm.
- Children attending Showa clubs must inform teachers of planned absence.
Sports Clubs
Coordinator: Showa – Dan Trachonitis
Available to: Shibuya Y3 & Showa Y4-6
When: Before, during and after school
Where: BST Shibuya Gym, BST Showa Leo Place, Gyms and Pool
How you sign up: Respond to online sign up Form by deadline.
How long they run for: Most run for 10 weeks – 5 before and 5 after half term. Some run all term.
Delivered by: BST PE staff
Shibuya
- These clubs are offered by BST staff to provide children with opportunities to train more competitively in a range of team and individual sports.
- Some of the sports will involve competing in fixtures against other schools and clubs.
- Children are selected for some sports clubs, based on performance and PBs by BST staff and coaches, from those expressing interest in participation.
- We endeavour to involve as many children as possible in the sports programme and support children in finding a sport that matches their skills and abilities.
- Clubs will continue regardless of bad weather. Indoor provision will be made and communicated through email and BST social media.
- No “make up” sessions will be offered for any missed clubs.
Showa
- These termly sports clubs are offered by BST staff to provide children with opportunities to train more competitively in a range of team and individual sports.
- Each term will focus on season specific sports (e.g. netball in the winter and cricket in the summer).
- Children are selected for sports clubs, based on performance and PBs by BST staff and coaches, from those expressing interest in participation.
- Children will be expected to attend the two sessions per week of their chosen sport over the course of a term. This will allow for a deeper focus on skill development, strategy, teamwork and fitness.
- Sports will involve competing in numerous fixtures against others schools and clubs.
- We endeavour to involve as many children as possible in the sports programme and support children in finding a sport that matches their skills and abilities.
- Parents and athletes will be informed of selection for fixtures at least two weeks prior to the event.
- Clubs will continue regardless of bad weather. Indoor provision will be made and communicated through email and BST social media.
- No “make up” sessions will be offered for any missed clubs.
Music Clubs
Coordinator: BST - Louisa Danmeri
Available to: Nursery - Y3 Shibuya, Y4-6 Showa
When: Before, during and after school
Where: Shibuya and Showa Music Rooms and allocated classrooms
How you sign up: Respond to online sign up Form by deadline.
How long they run for: Most run for 10 weeks and require a whole year commitment
Delivered by: Music department staff and peripatetic instrumental teachers
- Music clubs are offered at Shibuya (Nursery - Year 3) and Showa (Year 4, 5, & 6).
- A letter will be sent out with the details Term One.
- All music clubs require a whole year commitment with some ensembles running for additional weeks each term.
