The British School in Tokyo, operating under the Gakko Hojin of Showa Women’s University and Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen, holds Tokutei Koeki Zoshin Hojin (Tokuzo) status.

This allows us to issue tax receipts for donations over ¥2,000. Both individuals and corporations may deduct donations from their taxable income in Japan (with limits set by law).

Donors can choose between:

• Tax deduction – donation deducted from taxable income

• Tax credit – donation deducted from income tax payable

The method can be selected when filing your tax return; please consult your tax advisor. To request a receipt, contact the Development Office at devt-office@bst.ac.jp.
