This weekend saw 22 of our Year 6 students run 63 km over 3 days as part of our annual Fuji Relay. If the distance wasn't impressive enough, then having all four seasons of weather in 3 days certainly was! Friday was a total of 28 km, with mostly roads and some hills around the base of Mount Fuji. On Saturday students ran 25 km through heavy rain and strong winds, over trails and paths through Aokigahara Forest, finishing off with a 4 km run around Yamanakako lake which had them soaked through as if they'd jumped in! The final day of the relay brought beautiful sunshine and a stunning view of Mount Fuji as they ran the remaining 10 km distance around Yamanakako Lake. The determination, team spirit and 'never give up' attitude on display was truly inspiring for all to see and made the trip an unforgettable one for our Year 6's, who are soon to enter their first year of Secondary school in September.
