Beaver & Cub Scout Group "First Tokyo Scouts" at BST.

Beavers and Cubs meetings will be held during the school term at BST Shibuya on Thursday evenings from 4-5:30pm.

Scouting is open to both boys and girls of an appropriate age, who will upon entry become official members of the UK Scout Association.

Beavers are aged 6-8 years old; Cub Scouts are 8-10 years old.

Children will be accepted on a strictly first come, first served basis. Parents will need to be willing to commit to help at least one meeting per term. Fees, to cover the UK Scout Association official fees and group running costs, will be collected at the start of each term.

The two leaders of First Tokyo Scouts are BST parents who run this group on a voluntary basis. We would be happy to welcome and train up new potential leaders in order to be able to increase the size of our group.

Chinese Language Club will focus on spoken communication in Chinese; it will also encompass reading and writing skills. Classes aim to expose children to the Chinese language and to nurture an interest in learning the language.

Standard Mandarin with simplified Chinese characters, rather than any dialects or traditional Chinese characters will be used in the classes.

The class will be run by Miss Zhang Ling, a qualified teacher from Beijing, China, with many years of experience teaching Mandarin at Nishimachi International School and as a private tutor to families in Tokyo.

If you are interested, please send an email with your child's name, class and an indication of their Mandarin language ability to Carolyn Siauw at: carolyn.siauw@yahoo.com

Classes will be held either after school or during lunch hour depending on sign up, ability & campus.
