Dates for Your Diary and Reminders

  • Please make sure your child always has a raincoat in their bag - we will try to go to our outdoor PE sessions, even if there is a light rain.

  • Please ensure your child has a sunhat with them every day.

  • On the days your child has PE, please ensure they come to school wearing their PE kit. The PE kit consists of a white top, navy shorts/navy jogging bottoms, navy sweater and outdoor trainers. Indoor trainers are required for their indoor lesson (a suitable non marking trainer for sports such as basketball, badminton etc). These generally get left in their locker during the week as if there is bad weather their outdoor lesson may also be indoors.
  • Swimming in Term 3:

Learning Parttners for next year:

This term we will have a series of planned transitional events as we start to consider the class groupings for next year. Over the coming weeks, we will be asking the students who they enjoy learning with (learning partners) so that we can start to consider the class configurations for the next academic year. Please follow up with your child on who they feel brings out the best in them and helps them learn well. We will make every effort to ensure each child is placed with one of their choices. If you have any information pertinent to your child's next class, please let the class teacher know as soon as possible.

Seesaw

Dear Year 3 Parents,

We would just like to let you know that the Seesaw journal for your child is now available to access. Please see the information on the website below on how we use Seesaw at The British School in Tokyo and how you can use it to help your child's learning at home.

If you would like to connect with your child's Seesaw journal, please use the website link below, navigate to the relevant year group for your child and scroll to the bottom of the page to find the sign-up form. If you have previously connected with your child's Seesaw journal you will already be connected to their new class journal. You are not required to sign up again.

Seesaw at BST website

For parents of children in Year 3 we will also be creating Seesaw Home Learning codes. This will allow children to complete reading responses at home using the Seesaw app. The codes are accessible on the Parent Portal and instructions on how to find them can be found here.

Should you have any queries regarding Seesaw please contact Primary EdTech Coach, Iain Crummie (icrummie@bst.ac.jp).

Update:

Seesaw has now consolidated its Seesaw Family and Seesaw Class apps into one app, simply called 'Seesaw'. Please download the app from the Apple Store here or the Google Play store here

This new version of the app allows you to view all of your children's journals but also allows you to switch easily between your family account and your child's account all within the same app. This is particularly useful when they would like to post home learning or reading responses on Seesaw. Please see this webpage for more information and videos on how to do this.

Homework - can be found on Google Classroom every Friday evening.

School homework will be available on the Google Classroom every Friday. Please encourage your children to log onto the Classroom at home to find the slides which show them what they need to do.

Children should sign in with their school email address and password.
