This Week in Year 6
This week, along with the entire school, Year 6 had the opportunity to meet our new school principal. Mr Clayton gave us all a very entertaining account of his life and enlisted our help to understand the BST Learner Profile. Ask your children what they can remember from his presentation, but definitely don't ask about the bits he asked us all to keep secret...
Year 6 also got to connect with their Heads of House as part of their transition to Secondary school in September. Their Heads of House, along with their tutors, will be the children's "go to" staff who will help guide them through the next phase of their education. This was a great opportuntity to find out more about what life will be like in Secondary, allay any anxieties, and ask questions. A huge thanks to Ms Casey, Ms Selby, Mr Parsons, Mr Grimshaw, Ms Huste and Ms Acquaye for coming and answering so many questions. We could tell how much the Year 6 children appreciated meeting you.
This term we have many more transitional events to help the Year 6 prepare for Secondary School, and as we start to consider the class groupings for next year. Over the coming weeks, we will be asking the students who they enjoy learning with (learning partners) so that we can start to consider the class configurations for the next academic year. Please follow up with your child on who they feel brings out the best in them and helps them learn well. We will make every effort to ensure each child is placed with one or more of their choices.
Coming Up...
